Aerial Forest Adventure Park at Harpers Ferry

The Aerial Forest Adventure Park at Harpers Ferry is the newest addition to River Riders' offerings.  Only 1 hour from the Washington, DC, Baltimore, Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas, Harpers Ferry is a world away yet close enough for a day trip!

The 5 trail challenge course that makes up the Adventure Park covers 4 beautiful wooded acres above River Riders' main base.  Courses are rated on a scale similar to a ski resort. The courses are labeled green through black with green being the easiest and black the most difficult. There is also a yellow course for younger guests. Each trail has approximately 12 challenge elements and zip lines.

During the spring months we try to focus all of our trips on Saturdays. We are open 7 days a week for reservations of at least 4 people. If your group has less than 4 people please call us for availability.

The Park is suitable for most guests ages seven and up of average physical ability who do not have an extreme fear of heights and weigh less than 265 pounds.

Participants will be given instruction by trained staff prior to entering the course.  The staff will also monitor participants while on the course and be available for assistance if necessary.

Aerial Forest Adventure Parks have been used in Europe for about 20 years but have only become popular in the United States in the last 5 years.  There are 600 courses in France alone and less than 20 in the United States. We are thrilled to bring you the first aerial adventure park in our area!  The Adventure Park is a challenge activity.  The participant utilizes a  SMART belay system and is able to travel through the park at their own pace.  The Adventure Park is for those looking to challenge themselves with balance and daring.  It features zip lines, rope bridges, log bridges, and MANY other elements to satisfy adventure seekers.  If you're looking for the next challenge, this is it!

The Adventure Park was designed and constructed by Tree-mendous, Inc.  The contractor has 20 years of experience in Europe building Adventure Parks and other challenge elements.  The course is built to ACCT (Association of Challenge Course Technology) standards and is licensed by the State of West Virginia Division of Labor.
The Revolutionary EDELRID Smart Belay provides the Adventure Park operator with an interactive Pulley Carabiner System providing more safety and raising security for Park visitors to a new level. If one carabiner is open the other carabiner realizes this, and when being utilized properly, will not open until the other carabiner is clipped and closed on the safety cable.
